Harder than war?

“I’d rather go back to Afghanistan than do this.”

The words came from a military vet who just recently entered a Pure Desire discipleship group to find healing from relational and sexual brokenness. With that mentality, what causes him and a friend to make a 4 hour round trip every week for group? To use his words again, “I’ve hit rock bottom and Jesus is meeting me there.” The Lord is doing something wonderful once again. 11 new men and 4 new women have entered the discipleship process. Please pray for victory in families, marriages, and spiritual health. We need the covering!

Schools: It’s official. Compass was one of the first schools Minding The Gap (MTG) entered four years ago, and it was infamous for being the “most difficult” school. It has ceased to hold that title. Why? The principle attributes a large portion of the change to MTG and the work of Jesus in the lives of the students. This gives us hope for real change as we focus our time on newer schools, leaving Compass to a seasoned team. One such example is Ervin. The school principal recently broke down in a meeting with tears of gratitude at the help that community partners like MTG were bringing to the table. The needs of the families within the school are so great she was overwhelmed by what seemed like an insurmountable task. The truth is, the task IS insurmountable. But those are the kind of odds God likes. We have a real opportunity to see His kingdom come in these schools. Will you pray for a move of the Holy Spirit in Ervin as we’ve seen in Compass?

Also MTG is in its final stages of proofing before the 180 Club afterschool curriculum is published. Rebecca and Tim wrote the curriculum together and are very excited and grateful to be at this point in the process after 4 years of writing, testing, and rewriting. This allows the curriculum to be distributed to other school districts easier. May much fruit come from it!

IHOPKC Update: As of March, we have officially stepped off staff at IHOPKC. Many believed we left staff status when the internship ended May 2024, but we believed the Lord was calling us to remain for a time to play a part in helping those we had influence over within the community. Many fruitful and difficult conversations about holiness, scriptural truth, and more were had. However, the time has officially come to move on. If you would like further details, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you: Lastly, we want to thank you for your faithfulness to Jesus in the way you come alongside us. We are greatly encouraged over and over again when we think about the team God raised to see His kingdom built here. You really matter.
