He got it.

9 year old Fidelis suddenly looked up from a Bible lesson on Jesus’ baptism and said something that shocked us.

“The amazing thing about this story is that Jesus knew who He was and only did what He saw the Father doing.”

Whether he knew it or not, Fidelis was quoting John 5:19 (a section of scripture we’ve never covered). Seeing the lightbulb come on was thrilling.

Evangelism 

Minding The Gap plans to reach more like Fidelis this year. Last year we paused our efforts to enter new schools and focused on internal processes with the help of a non-profit consultant. Though continued coaching is still needed, we are now in a much better place to add new schools to the four schools we currently serve. A big focus this year is to find and train new teams for these new schools. Pray for God to raise up laborers to enter the schools that have asked us to come.

Discipleship

Discipleship through our Pure Desire groups continues strong as well. We have an amazing team of six leaders God has brought to facilitate groups. It is the first time we are seeing a third layer of discipleship, and God is teaching us to focus on encouraging and strengthening instead of micro-managing. Lives are being changed and it is incredible to watch Jesus at work! Pray for these new leaders to be led by the Spirit as they step into their new role.
